This painting is based on photos taken from a construction site. An old building in the center of Stockholm from the beginning of the 20th century was being refurbished and I got the opportunity to walk around and take pictures of what it looked like. The image on the upper left is what is left of the floor and in those holes they placed corks as insulation, which I found fascinating. In the upper right corner ther's an image of the roof where an old lamp has been torn down and no shows the wooden boards in the ceiling. The two images in the bottom are paintings that were painted directly on the walls in the appartment. They were beautiful but unfortunately gone so I ahd to keep them for future generations and in a way they are still there since the original paintings are hanging in one of the apartments.
